cool story bro

I would be surprised to see Teravainen traded.

Of course if Seth Jones was coming well then yeah. I don't think Seth Jones gets traded for any first rounder of the last 3 or 4 years.

This could make for an interesting off season. It Stan can trade TT for a better prospect then I'm all for it. But what are the chances there are more pieces involved (other than Teravainen and the 2nd overall pick)? Could Bolland get shipped to Florida as well?

If a TT trade means we get Drouin or McKinnon then that is a deal that needs to be made.

The games vs the Wild were reasonably close this year. I'm not ready to say Hawks in 5. LIke JJ says, how will they respond to the physical?

I'd like to see the Hawks come out and score on their first power play, like they did in the season opener at LA. I think that would go a long way in the confidence department.

Personally I think that Sasha Barkov, the big center, would benefit the hawks more than Drouin or Mackinnon

Maybe I needed to read this after my nap but if say Fl ends up with the 1st pick, they would be willing to trade it to the hawks for TT + plug in players/prospects and the hawks would pick Jones?

I like the idea of McKinnon. Doesn't Drouin play on the wing?

Teravainen and the rights to Stalberg for the 2nd overall pick?

guys, i hate to spam like this - but as i posted in the last JJ blog, i do have two "single" tickets for tonight, both 300 level, one in the 5th row, one in the 16th i think. looking to unload them and willing to deal. in case anybody is interested, shoot me a PM.

also, i have good hope for this series in regards to the worry of "coming out flat" - i just can't see the Hawks coming out flat considering their demeanor this entire season coupled with the fact that they've had two straight 1st round outs with this "core"

I'd trade Teuvo + to get up there in that draft. Assuming Colorado drafts Jones, Mckinnon, Drouin, Barkov, Monahan etc. are all nice pieces.

My ideal big deal with some of these pieces (likely would never happen):

Teuvo, Bolland, rights to sign Stalberg, 2 of Beach/Lalonde/J. Hayes

for

2nd overall pick, Mattias, 2nd or 3rd rounder in '13 draft

Those Datsyuk and Malkin guys really didn't work out. Lidstrom and Karlson were/are bums and lord knows Cam Barker was a good tough Canadian boy who had a hell of a career. Come on man

That's how you build a team with an excess of talent.

Perhaps the Oilers could pay attention...

How about those 40-something guys named Jagr and Selanne? Those two put up better numbers than guys half their age.

Why would anybody do that deal? If Florida puts up the second overall pick, a likely franchise asset, how many teams will jump to enter the bidding? The price would escalate every day from now until draft day.

I don't pay much attention to rumours (esp. JJ's) because they almost never come to fruition. However, this one is interesting. Say, if our offer going into the draft was:

To Chicago: 1st overall
To Florida: TT, Nick Leddy, Chicago's first rounder 2013

This way
Chicago:
-replaces Leddy with another defencemen (on an entry level contract) and doesn't have to worry about resigning Leddy
-saves cap space to retain their UFA's
Florida:
-signs Leddy to a long term contract and gets an immediate young PMD
-upgrades their top 6 with a future impact player
-replaces their 1st round pick with a later one

If this was the plan, does this explain Tallon's long face after the lottery winner was announced yesterday???

Florida doesn't have the 1st overall pick. They have the 2nd overall pick.

Even the first overall pick is not worth Teravainen, Leddy and what will possibly be the 30th pick in the draft. This is a serious overpay.

Watching McKinnon in Halifax all year I just have to say, if an option to get that draft pick is available by moving TT Bowman has to seriously consider this deal. McKinnon will be a franchise player.

Agreed. If the Hawks deal TT to Florida for the #2 overall pick the Hawks would still be keeping their #30(hopefully #30) pick.

TT for the #2 pick ? Depends on who the Hawks want I guess. I would have to think if Leddy was involved then one of Florida's top 2 centers would head to Chicago. Oh well , we'll see.

If the Hawks win the 2013 Stanley Cup , you can bet it is in part to Stalberg and Leddy having good playoffs . If that happens Stalberg and Leddy could be priced out of the Hawks future....

So if a deal does go down, we trade TT for the guy we tell Florida to grab?

Drouin or McKinnon most likely?

In more important news, Kaner brought the mullet back, and he gave Saad one too. I like this team's swagger, I feel like they expect to win, and that breeds winning a lot of the time
